A CV can’t show what you’re actually good at — your work can. Send us something you’ve made, and if it’s interesting we’ll pay you for a real piece of the job before either of us decides.
Show us the workTen minutes. No cover letter.
We’re not always hiring. We’re always looking.
Which is better for you than it sounds. You’re not competing against whoever happened to be free in the same four-week window, and you don’t have to be job hunting to be worth talking to. Send us something now — when a seat opens, we start from people whose work we’ve already seen. If there’s nothing open today, we’ll tell you plainly.
How this goes
01
Send the work, not a CV
One link, one file, or a paragraph about something you made. That is 80% of how we read you. A CV is welcome, and it is the other 20%.
02
We pay you for a real task
Not a hypothetical, and never an unpaid “test project.” A scoped piece of the actual job at a fee agreed up front, with a round of notes — so you find out how we work before you commit to anything.
03
Then we talk
The skill question is already answered by then, so this is just whether we’d enjoy working together. You’d be talking to the person who runs the business.
04
Reviewed at three months
If you’ve shown promise, your increase happens inside probation — you don’t wait out the clock for it. Another review at six months.
Who you’d be joining
We’re an ecommerce marketing agency in Johannesburg — paid media, email, content, SEO and web for online retailers, mostly owner-operated Shopify and WooCommerce stores. We’re a small team and we keep the client list short, so every account gets senior people rather than being sold by someone experienced and handed to someone who isn’t.
Most of our work is retained rather than project-by-project, which for you means the work is planned instead of scrambled for, and the seat is funded by something steadier than the next pitch. The social side is already carrying more work than it can hold on its own. We’re aiming to double in 2027, which is why we’re building a bench now rather than scrambling later.
You’d work directly with the founder — not a manager two layers down. And you’d be early enough to build the systems rather than inherit them: 2026 was the year we rebuilt the team, so plenty of how we work isn’t written down yet. If you’d rather step into a finished system, this one will frustrate you.
Most of the learning here happens in the room. You pick things up from whoever is sitting next to you far faster than an onboarding document would teach you, and ideas don’t need seniority to get used — if yours is the better one, that’s the one we run with. Everyone’s work gets reviewed, the founder’s included, so notes aren’t a verdict on you. They’re just how the work gets finished.
We’re also more technical than most agencies this size. A lot of what we do runs through APIs and the command line — including this page. We build internal tools, run AI experiments, pull new software apart to work out whether it’s worth anything, and do enough data work to find the things dashboards don’t surface. If you like taking tools apart, you’d have company.
Not all of it happens at a desk. We’re on shoots — photography and video, often from creative direction through to the day itself — and at industry events, sometimes putting clients in front of the right ones. The whole team went to Ecommerce Live this year. Most of the week is in the office, with a day worked out of a coffee shop once or twice a month, a gym session here and there, and the occasional TikTok made mostly to amuse ourselves.
What to send
Find the area that’s yours and send the thing next to it. That’s the whole application.
Design
The work, and the brief it was answering. We care about the gap between the two.
Video
Something you shot or cut. Ideally an ad, and tell us what it was selling.
Photography
A shoot you did — product or lifestyle — and the brief behind it.
Content creation
Something you made that ran on a brand’s channel. How it performed, if you know.
The other side of it
Where
Johannesburg, in-office to start — there’s a lot in the founder’s head that has to get into yours, and that transfers faster in a room. Work-from-home days open up as you get independent. The condition is independence, not tenure.
Money
You’ll have the number before we ask you for anything beyond the first submission. We won’t waste your time on a conversation that was never going to work financially.
What you’d leave with
Who this suits
- You’d be early, not junior. Your work is visible, the things you build stay built, and it lands on real businesses — owner-operated stores where a good month is somebody’s actual year.
- You’d get range, not a lane. Small team, so you’ll sit closer to adjacent work than you would somewhere larger. People here get broad quickly.
- You’d build the process, not inherit it. Much of how we work is being written this year, and you’d write some of it.
- You’d get notes, and give them. Half this job is revision. That applies to everyone here, the founder included.
Put your best foot forward
Leave us a lasting impression below. One link or one file, ten minutes — and if we’re interested you’ll hear from us within a week. If we’re not, you’ll hear that too.
That’s in.
You’ll hear from us within a week — either with questions, with a paid task, or with a no for now and a place on the standing list. Either way, you’ll hear.
After you hit send
Within a week, one of three things. Either we come back with questions, or we come back with a paid task, or we tell you it’s a no for now and you go on the standing list.
The standing list is a real thing, not a euphemism. We keep what you sent — the work itself, not just a CV — and we come back to it when a seat opens. We re-check it every six months. If you’d rather we didn’t keep it, say so in the form and we’ll delete it.
You will hear back either way. If two weeks pass and you’ve heard nothing, send the form again and say it’s a second try. It lands in the same place, and that is the one we actually watch.
